Gallery of Beaded Silk Sari gown

Beaded Silk Sari gown
Beaded Silk Sari transformed into a column gown. This heavily beaded silk georgette sari was purchased by the bride specifically to have this gown made. The beauty of the sari before its 'reincarnation' can be seen on the tailor stand. The very heavily decorated pallau - the last yard of the sari - was used for the train. The border of the sari was enhanced with a layer of gold organza and detailed beading - I used the border as appliqué at the empire line and at the hem of the gown. The inner construction of the gown is a soft fluid duchesse satin.
